Psychotherapy is a process where a trained and appropriately registered therapist seeks to help a patient through some emotional, psychological or psychiatric difficulty by means of talking, rather than biological or medicinal means.

A rough guideline on the process followed is, in order: 1. Establish what exactly the main problem is 2. Obtaining historical information which may include but is not limited to details about how you were raised, difficulties growing up, school performance, work history, anything and everything that has made you who you are today. 3. At this stage we start looking at how your past may or may not have influenced your current problems and what we can do to alleviate these problems.
